SAY WHAT?....6/28/23

Kevin Fristad

The number of declared and undeclared candidates for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is now close to 20. Many of them know full well they won’t get far.

Either they’re auditioning for the position of Vice President or some other high office, looking to become famous and then get a nice spot on Fox, bolstering their egos, or in Chris Christie’s case, seeking revenge for not getting the Attorney General job under Trump.

Many of these candidates are ill qualified to say the least. Take Miami Mayor Francis Suarez who when asked on the Hugh Hewitt podcast if he would be talking about the Uyghurs (pronounced ‘weegers') in his campaign, he asked, “The what?”

“The Uyghurs”, Hewitt replied. “What’s a Uyghur?”, Suarez then asked.

Rather than make his guest look even dumber, Hewitt said he’d come back to that.

At the end of the interview, Suarez said, “I’ll look at what a - what was it, what did you call it, a ‘Weeble’?

The Uyghurs are a repressed ethnic group in China with up to 2 million of them imprisoned. It's political malpractice for a politician to not know anything about this heavily publicized genocide.
